Hey, I'm Roben

I’m a boudoir and portrait photographer, a romance novelist, and an award-winning writer based in Somerset, Central New Jersey. I’ve been in love with photography for more than 30 years, but what keeps me here isn’t just the images… it’s what happens in the space between them.
The shift.
The moment someone starts to see themselves differently.

BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY
As a teen, my self-confidence (like many of us) was shaky at best. But over time, I learned how to move through life in a way that allowed me to own my sensuality and love myself—fully, unapologetically.
That’s why boudoir speaks to me.
Not just because it’s beautiful…
but because of what it unlocks.
This isn’t about becoming someone else.
It’s about seeing the version of you that’s already there.
PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY
My mother was the keeper of our family photo albums. She guarded them like treasure. One of my favorite photographs holds five generations of women—my great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, me, and my daughter.
Three of those women are no longer here physically.
But they still exist in that image.
That’s the power of a photograph.
It outlives us. It holds us.
I’ve been lucky enough to meet some incredible women through my work. Many walk in unsure… a little nervous, wondering if they’ll “get it right.”
But then something shifts.
They start to relax.
They start to feel.
They start to see what I see.
Their beauty. Their presence. Their story.
AND THEN… IT’S ON.
We’re laughing. Hyping each other up.
Completely locked into the moment.
And suddenly, the woman who walked in unsure…
is walking out different.
Confident. Radiant. Fully in her body.
And somewhere in the middle of it all…
we stopped being strangers.
When you book with Glimpse PhotographyNJ, we may meet as acquaintances…
…but we’ll leave like we’ve known each other for years.
Believe that.
A few things I love (outside the camera):
Playing video games
Watching my favorite movies for the 100th time
Jazz clubs & live concerts
Giving high fives to people who crush it
My three very spoiled dogs
Singing old-school jams and being silly with my grandkids
The smell of a new computer (yes… I’m that techy)
Planning my next adventure
The color black (because it’s classic)
Mango smoothies
Nutella (no explanation needed)
