I’m excited… but also a little nervous about my body. Is that normal?
Completely normal. A boudoir session is an intimate experience, and it’s natural to feel a little apprehensive at first. Most of the women I work with feel the same way when they walk in. But here’s the thing… you don’t have to show up confident. That’s something we’ll build together. I’ll guide you through everything, from posing to the smallest details, so you can relax into the experience and start to see yourself in a different way. And if there are areas you’re unsure about, I’ll show you how to work with your body in a way that feels natural and flattering. If you have questions before your session, reach out. No question is silly… I’m here for you every step of the way.
What should I wear to a boudoir photography session?
This is one of our favorite questions! Steer clear from flowing lingerie and go for something that will be more form fitting and flattering! Bodysuits are always great to wear. They shape and smooth the figure and look great in photos. A sleeveless t-shirt with a cute pair of panties never disappoints! For inspiration on what to wear on your boudoir shoot, visit our Pinterest page. One of the coolest places to shop online is Bluebella. They have an array of cute, sexy and naughty niceties! Also, you may want to check out a few stores such as Forever 21, or Cacique. Another fabulous place to shop online is the Burgundy Fox. If you’re looking for something extra sexy, they have lingerie ranging in sizes from XS to 6X. If you have a particular outfit in mind and need advice, we’re always here!
Should I tan before a boudoir session?
I recommend keeping your skin as natural as possible. Tanning products can sometimes photograph unevenly or shift in tone under lighting, which can affect how your images look. Trust me… your natural skin tone, paired with the right lighting, is more than enough.
Can I bring a friend with me to my session?
I completely understand wanting that extra support… but I don’t allow guests during boudoir sessions. This space is just for you. Over the years, I’ve found that even well-meaning friends can be a distraction, and I want you fully present, comfortable, and able to settle into the experience without outside energy in the room. And don’t worry… you won’t need them. I’ll guide you through everything and hype you up the entire time.
Can my boudoir session be done at another location?
Yes… depending on the space. Some clients love the idea of using their own environment, and we can absolutely talk through that. I just want to make sure the lighting and overall feel support the kind of images we’re creating. Most sessions take place in a few trusted hotels or B&Bs that allow me to create a consistent, comfortable experience from start to finish.
How far in advance can I book my boudoir photo session?
Weekends tend to fill up quickly, so I recommend booking about 4–6 weeks in advance… especially if you’re planning to order a custom album. After your session and image selection, albums are typically ready in about 4 weeks. And honestly… most clients love having that time to get everything ready… outfits, mindset, and stepping into their moment.
Do you offer couples and/or men’s boudoir sessions?
We love our men… but our boudoir experiences are intentionally designed for women. Women often carry so much… caring for others, showing up, holding everything together. This space is for them. A space to feel seen. Appreciated. Confident. A space to reconnect with themselves and walk away feeling powerful in their own skin.
Do you offer family portraits?
Yes, I do. Reach out and we can talk through what you’re envisioning and create something that feels right for you and your family.
