"I always did something I was a little not ready to do. I think that's how you grow. When there's that moment of 'Wow, I'm not really sure I can do this,' and you push through those moments, that's when you have a breakthrough.”
Marissa Mayer, American businesswoman

The older I get, the more I realize how daring I’ve become.  Daring to the point that I’m downright sassy—not in a bad way, but in a confident, sure way. Yet, this wasn’t always so.   It took years of experiences, successes and failures to arrive at this juncture in my life. And you know what?  I’m better for it. Every day that I’m allowed, I’m on a continued mission to becoming my sassiest self yet!

When we’re younger we are usually hesitant to experience things beyond our comfort zone. We think, rethink and overthink about situations that we believe we’re not ready to pursue. My overthinking stopped the moment I became a mother.  I became decisive and fierce-- like a lioness watching over her cubs! That determination, strength and courage to take care of my family, thankfully affected other aspects of my life and at an early age I found my voice, my courage, myself.

How many of us can relate to the idea of wanting to do something but thinking that we’re not ready? The task can be anything: learning to drive, getting into a relationship, traveling by yourself or even eating a new and different type of food.  Yet, when you move forward, push the fear aside and follow through, the results is oftentimes very rewarding.

Opening my own head shot and boudoir photography business was definitely a big deal for me and the decision to do so is one for which I’m forever grateful.  Boudoir is something that many people don’t think they’re ready for, yet when they go for it and experience the empowerment of it all, it’s a life-changer, an epiphany, a breakthrough.

As I mentioned earlier, I intend to continue my sassy journey and shooting boudoir photography, with my beloved Canon camera, is a huge part of it.  And along the way, I plan to take my collective sisterhood with me.  So, pack something cute!
